Great to have you post on this site.
Many of us have 'lost' our parents, siblings and 'friends' due to being d'fed, but I have to agree that leaving the JoHo's is really liberating.
All the best and welcome,
SAB
i have been a disfellowshiped joho (what i call jehovah's witnesses now) for 7 years and i still find it hard every single day!
i have just recently reunited with 2 of my 4 sisters who have taken a stand just like myself!
i encourage anyone who is struggling with the decisoin to leave or not to leave, but beleive me and the countless others, it was the best decision of my life!!!

would someone seriously consider arranging for an apostafest up in scotland next year?
i know i'm asking this early but i feel it would be good to put the feelers out now.. obviously, it would have to be a location easy to get to - so that means stornoway is out!
sorry, ross & xena.
Bubble and I would be interested but it does depend on the dates.
Scotland is a nice country but I really hope 'The Scotsman' had his tongue firmly in his cheek when he suggested that Glasgow was the centre of the universe!!!!!!!!!!!
i sent the following email to trevor following the revelation of trevorgate a few days back.. trevor [or whatever your real name is] - this is not hate mail.
and it won't be long.
i have like 5 minutes before i leave for work.
It explains a bit - that Trevor is a very mixed up individual that needs help with his mental problems.
Who knows whether what he has said about being at Hillsborough is true? Maybe it is and if it is he does have some sympathy from me, but that doesn't excuse his actions on this site.
He has emotionally hurt many people, some of which are still overcoming problems since leaving the JW's.
Maybe the best for all of us is if we just totally ignore everything regarding Trevor on this forum and move on - I'm sure he is still looking at this site and getting some strange satisfaction out of reading all of our comments.
Peace to all,
SAB
hi everybody, my name is julie, and this is my first post.. i'm a third generation jw, or at least i was until a two weeks ago, when i was announced as no longer a jw.
i'm really happy about that, ecstatic in fact, although i'd been a jw all my life, and i'm 37 now.
i could have disassociated like my friends, but i couldn't be bothered to play their chikdish game, so i let them do it for me.
Great story and very well put - I expect lot's of us had feelings similar to yours.
Welcome here and you will get loads of help and support from the eclectic mix of personalities.

here are the final batch of blank covers for this time round.
in response to those who ask, i have seen the private edition cover from brazil or wherever that has been posted.
i'm waiting for an english version to put up for captions.
These are all fantastic!
Btw there is someone of Flickr who has posted lots and lots of these but they are all in German - maybe these English ones could be added.
Thanks for the fun!
SAB
julie and i have both known linda for over 25 years, from when she first became a jw, so we decided to write this tribute to her.. we first met linda in january 1981, when she attended her first ever meeting at our kingdom hall.
she had been taking the magazines for a few months, since just after she finished university, and had started studying a few weeks before, but this was the first time she had plucked up the courage to attend a meeting.
julie was having many doubts herself by then, and once again linda was supportive, as was trev.
Thanks for that heartfelt and moving tribute, Iamfreenow.
I met Trevor last year at the Apostacurry and found him to be a kindhearted true gentleman. It was not possible for Linda to be there so I for one have missed out on meeting this truly amazing lady.
Your story of Linda and her friends has touched our hearts.
Kindness and love to everyone who knew Linda.
yes we've beaten the french in the rugby union world cup finals again, along with the austalians of course, its a repeat of 4 years ago!!!
we were 33-1 outsiders at the start of this tournament will we go on to win it???.
c,mon england!!!.
The last two England matches, against Australia and now France have really showed the English 'bulldog spirit'. They were never ever going to give up and have now beaten two teams who really should have beaten us.
Roll on the final!
We by rights should not win the final, especially if it is against South Africa as they have already beaten us 36-0. But with England playing as they are you never know, we may be the first country to retain the World Cup. Wouldn't that be cool?!
Next weekend it is the Rugby World Cup Final, and the last race in the Formula 1 calendar (my favourite sport) and we have arranged to go and stay round a friends house for the weekend.
I'm just hoping that they like sport too or I will be al depressed!
Can't have that as it will also be my birthday!
Come on ENGLAND, come on McLaren - Mercedes (Hamilton preferably)!
i refused to give a bible study to some kid.
i figured that many tried and didn't succeed.. i also didn't feel ready for that, nor did i want to drag him to each meeting after that, since he had no family in the org.
the elders weren't happy with my decision.. bottom line, you can't say no, without any consequences..
When I was on the way out, one week an elder told me that I was in danger of losing my 'priveleges' as a MS but the following week another elder told me that I was being considered for eldership!
Obviously guided by holy spirit!
ok, because flipper brought up the beatles, i have to bring up the "anti- beatles".
i always preferred the rougher, raw edge of the stones, and the more guitar driven sound with a swaggering, swinging beat.. i'll go with tumbling dice, keith here was at the peak of his addictions and still came up with one of the coolest riffs.
anything from the micktaylor era is fabulous in my opinion, but sticky fingers and exile on main street are my favorite albums..
IMHO The Stones were / are the best rock and roll group ever. I saw them live in Sheffield and they were fantastic!
The great thing with the Stones is that every song is different but also instantly recognizable as a Stones song.
Favourite (sorry, favorite!)? Impossible to say but Angie to me is wonderful.
P.S. - I remember my mum warning me about the Rolling Stones, how they were proof that the system of things was near it's end and that I shouldn't listen to them. That was late 60's early 70's - no wonder I like them so much!!!!!!!!!
